Lumbung Radio

This year again, Miss Read will be working together with lumbung radio to produce a one week program of events prior to the fair in the Miss Read space in and Savvy Contemporary gallery Wedding, to stream the events taking place in HKW during the fair weekend and to collaborate with the publishers to bridge the written and audio formats.

Gregoire Rousseau and Minerva Juolati from Station of Commons visiting Kassel in April 2022 to work on the lumbung Radio. During their stay, they visited Freies Radio Kassel to discuss the collaboration between Freies radio and lumbung Radio. On April 12th, they streamed in the lumbung Radio the public presentation of The Old Boys Network (OBN) archive that is going to be part of the documenta archive!

The Old Boys Network (OBN) described itself as "the first international cyberfeminist alliance". Founded in 1997 as part of documenta X's Hybrid Workspace, the network was active until 2001. OBN's concern was to "provide a context for various artistic, theoretical and political formulations related to cyberfeminism. At times enigmatic, at times transparent, OBN sets an agenda for communication, intervention and production" (www.obn.org).

obnarchive is part of the project Art Research Practice documenta. Artistic and Curatorial Research at the documenta Institute of the Kunsthochschule Kassel, which is funded by the Hessian Ministry of Science and the Arts from 2020 until the end of 2022.

lumbung Radio is an inter-local online community radio part of documenta fifteen. It’s an open online broadcast that comprises of an inter-local network of distinct radios and audio practices. It operates in no specific time zones, and streams multiple languages, music, and art. Each participating radio station depends on its own means of production, way of thinking, learning, and sharing. lumbung Radio operates as a decentralized network of nodes that uses internet without its hegemonic agency. The intention is producing an audiophonic common space built on the multiplication of the existing practices of its contributors.
