On September 6, from 2:30 pm to 4:30 pm (São Paulo time | 7:30 pm–9:30 pm Berlin | 1:30 am–3:30 am Kuala Lumpur, Sept 7 | 5:30 pm–7:30 pm Dakar), lumbung radio will live stream Strategies Radio, an initiative by students of the MA Spatial Strategies [Raumstrategien] program at Weißensee Kunsthochschule Berlin.

Broadcasting live from the 36th Bienal de São Paulo as part of Conjugations – Várzea: spaces for relief, the program unfolds outside the Ciccillo Matarazzo Pavilion in Ibirapuera Park. Here, Spatial Strategies practitioners will create a polyphonic soundscape, weaving together experimental sound works, conversations, field recordings, and live interventions.

Drawing from the conceptual understanding of várzea as an ecosystem of fertility, multiplicity, and tension, the group proposes a relational space of relief—shaped not by physical fabric, but through sound. Over two hours, contributions by 10 to 20 participants will form an open, resonant environment that expands and contracts with the presence of its listeners.

Through this act, Strategies Radio extends artistic research into a wider sphere of resonance—inviting collective imagination, shifting perspectives, and celebrating the multiplicity of sonic practices.

Strategies Radio is an initiative by students of the Spatial Strategies (Raumstrategien) MA program at Weißensee Kunsthochschule Berlin, emerging from a practice that rethinks space and publicness through artistic and urban interventions in response to the transformations of a globalized world.

As part of Rundgang, the annual summer open studios at Weißensee Kunsthochschule Berlin where students present their works to the public, Spatial Strategies hosts a two-day sonic performance on 26 and 27 July 2025, live streamed by Strategies Radio, which also shares an archive of student sound pieces; the exhibition takes place at Raumstrategien MA, Johannes-Itten-Straße 1, 13086 Berlin, while the live and sonic performances happen at Kunsthalle am Hamburger Platz, Gustav-Adolf-Straße 140, 13086 Berlin.
